how to turn your flower into a square
You will use the following steps on each flower when turning your flowers into squares.
- step 1) Attach new color to any stitch. Chain 3 (counts as a dc), 2 more dc in the same space,
- chain 1, 3 more dc in the same space (corner made) **3 half doubles in each of the next 3 chain spaces.
- You will now be working your next corner space. Complete the following in the next chain space--3 dc, chain 1, 3 dc.** Repeat between **-** until you’ve reached the first chain 3. Slip stitch to the top of the chain 3.

- Chain 3 (counts as double crochet), dc in each stitch until you’ve reached your corners (which is the chain 1 space) and complete the following- 3 dc, chain 1, 3 dc. Slip stitch to the top of the chain 3. Cut off yarn. Sew in ends.

Joining your squares
With the wrong sides of the squares facing each other, right sides facing out, attach your yarn in the chain 1 space in the top left corner. Chain 1, single crochet in each stitch until you’ve reached the bottom corner, 3 sc in the bottom corner. Sc along the bottom edge until you’ve reached the last corner on the bottom right, 3 sc. Sc along the edge until you’ve reached the top right corner, slip stitch into the chain 1 space. Cut off yarn. Sew in ends.
With the wrong sides of the squares facing each other, right sides facing out, attach your yarn in the chain 1 space in the top left corner. Attach yarn to the first double crochet on the right side of the top square, chain 1, sc. Chain 4, skip 3 stitches, sc-4 times (you will have 5 chain 4 spaces. Once you’ve reached the edge where the squares were joined chain 3 and sc in the seam, chain 3 and sc in the next dc (first dc on the next square). Chain 4, skip 3, sc-5 times (you will have 5 chain 4 spaces). Once you’ve reached the edge where the squares were joined chain 3 and single crochet in the seam, chain 3, slip stitch to the first sc. |
