Crochet Sunflower Granny Square Pattern
What you’ll need:
**How to double crochet 2 together (dc2tog)-
Yarn over. Insert your hook in the stitch, pick up your yarn and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.

- 3.50 mm hook
- cotton yarn in brown, gold and white
- darting needle for sewing in ends
- scissors
**How to double crochet 2 together (dc2tog)-
Yarn over. Insert your hook in the stitch, pick up your yarn and pull through, yarn over and pull through 2 loops.

1. With brown, 6 single crochet in a magic circle OR chain 5, slip stitch to the first chain to form a loop. Chain 1, 6 sc in the loop. You can watch my tutorial on how to make a magic circle here. Do not join. Continue onto the second round.

2. 2 single crochet in each stitch. (12 sc) You can either slip stitch to the first sc, chain 1, cut yarn and pull through or follow this simple tutorial on how to work an invisible finish.
3. With yellow, attach to any stitch, chain 3 (counts as a dc). Double crochet in the same stitch, chain 1. Repeat the following 11 times--Double crochet 2 together (dc2tog instructions above and a quick 1 minute video here) in the next stitch. Chain 1. Slip stitch to the first dc (the dc after the beginning chain 3).

Turning our sunflower into a square

4. Attach new color to any chain space, chain 3, 2 double crochet in the same space. Chain 1, 3 dc in the same space (corner made). 3 half double crochets in the next 2 chain spaces. Repeat the following 3 times—in the next space complete the following—3 dc, chain 1, 3 dc (corner made). 3 half double crochets in the next 2 chain spaces. Once you’ve reached your beginning chain 3, slip stitch. Chain 1.
5. Chain 1, half double in the same stitch. Half double crochet in each stitch until you’ve reached your corner chain 1 spaces and complete the following- 3 half double, chain 1, 3 half double. Repeat half double crochets in each stitch and 3 hdc, chain 1, 3 hdc in the corner spaces until you’ve reached your first half double. Slip stitch to the first half double, chain 1, cut your yarn and pull through OR complete an invisible finish. You can find my tutorial here.
